I am an academic interested in issues around media and democracy, society and cultural identity. I am currently working in England, but since South Africa is my home (that’s my hometown on the banner picture), I am most interested in the media in that country and on the rest of the African continent. The conflicts, dramas and dynamics of that exciting place, as they play out in the media, is what this blog will mostly be about. To find the interesting stuff, you have to look South.
